Take a Tour of Our New Shop

Welcome to our new shop. This past year has been full of new and exciting changes for the store and for the shop. For those who haven't stopped by the store lately, let me fill you in: the shop counter has moved from upstairs to downstairs (see photos above), where the sheet music department used to be (sheet music is now located one building south of the main entrance). The majority of the shop itself has been moved to an entirely new location.




This new location (see photos below) is much larger than the old shop used to be, and will give us more opportunity to expand and grow. Along with the move, which took place during the summer of 2006, we have developed a sophisticated computer program that allows the shop to communicate with the main store, and vice versa. These developments have greatly increased efficiency, which in turn has advanced our average turn around time. We hope that all of these things will only serve to improve your overall experience at Flesher-Hinton.

Now, many of you may be thinking "How do I get to this new shop?" Not to worry, you can still drop off your repairs at both of our location (Denver and Aurora), or with your educational sales rep. For reasons beyond our control, we are unable to grant customers access to this new location, which is why we're giving you an all-access, behind-the-scenes tour, only available online. The new shop is equipped with a new buffing room, a new cleaning room (equipped with an ultrasonic cleaner), a big area in the center of the shop for our dent machines, machining tools, lathes, and drill press. We even have more instrument storage, which will allow us to be able to tackle more repairs. Our parts wall is equipped with literally thousands parts for flutes, trumpets, clarinets, saxophones, and trombones, to name just a few.

Of course, this is just a sampling of the features of our new shop. We'll continue to inform you of the updates we are always making around our shop. I hope that this has given you a good picture of what our new facilities are capable of. One of the improvements that we hope to have in place by summer includes a brand new lacquer room.

Meet the Techs

Meet the technicians of Flesher-Hinton Music!


Shari Bartlett: Woodwind instruments are Shari's game; bring your flutes, clarinets, and saxophones to her for a quality job every time!


Ryan Ellison: Ryan works directly with our customers at the shop counter. He also does various minor repairs.


Ryan Elwood: Ryan also works directly with our customers at the shop counter. He also does various minor repairs.


Pete Dunnewald: Pete is our shop foreman, and our foremost expert on violins, cellos, and other stringed instruments, as well as woodwind and brass instruments. He is also an excellent electronics (keyboard/amp) technician.




Bil Ford: He may be a woodwind player, but he's the technician of choice for many of Denver's top brass players.


John Newton: John specializes in guitar repair, but he's well on his way to being able to fix just about anything, including brass and woodwind instruments.

Welcome to our new Blog!

Welcome to the Flesher-Hinton Service Department. We specialize in instrument repairs of all kinds: brass, woodwind, strings, electronics, and percussion. Our technicians are extremely talented, and are eager to serve you.

This past year, we have gone through some major and exciting renovations, including a brand new facility for our shop technicians to work their craft. Don't worry, you can still drop your repairs off at both of our retail locations, or have your sales rep pick them up from your school.

If you haven't been over to the Denver store recently, I encourage you to come on by and see the new changes we've made. Our sheet music department has moved one building south of the main building, which now houses all of our instruments and accessories. The service counter moved from our upstairs location to the main floor, underneath the stairs. These new changes have helped the shop grow and become more efficient, and has given the whole store a very modern look and feel.
